At Salmons Brook, students are engaged in a programme of Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG) from Year 7 to Year 11. They have access to a range of resources and opportunities, and dedicated Careers advisors visit the school regularly to meet with Students.
All learners will take part in a programme that helps them to:
Understand education, training, employment, and other progression opportunities
- Develop skills to help them plan and manage their own development and career progression
- Access relevant information
- Learn from activities, visits and work experience
- Prepare for Adulthood
Students have access to and are supported in using careers information that is:
- Easy-to-find and conveniently available
- Unbiased and up-to-date
Methods used to promote work-related learning for students include:
- Careers interviews
- CEIAG-focused lessons
- Trips to workplaces and universities
- Visits from employers and universities
- Provision of impartial information
- Coaching and training in key skills such as CV writing and interview skills
